Dates for your diary

After this last year of lockdowns and cancelled events it’s great to be able to announce dates for your diary again.

Things are still a bit up in the air, so we can’t say for certain what will happen with all of them until a little nearer the time but it’s looking promising.

Two definite dates are for Hebden Bridge Open Studios. This year we’ve scheduled July 9-11 and October 1-3 so we can have at least one, hopefully two live, in person events in 2021 here in the Calder Valley.

We learned a lot about hosting things online last year, so all sorts of virtual events are planned to run alongside the open studios whatever happens.

The arts and crafts scene in Hebden Bridge is fantastic so there will be a lot to see and do. You may need an appointment for some of the studios but we look forward to welcoming you back!

We’ve got our booking in with WOMAD and Cropredy Festival. Everything is being put in place to stage these safely, so we’re pretty sure they’ll be going ahead as planned.

My workshop is at the bottom of the house so I’m very lucky to have been able to carry on working all this time but it’s going to be wonderful to be out and about meeting people with a display of sculpture again.

There’s no substitute for meeting people and getting immediate feedback. A lot of my sculpture does need to be handled to be fully appreciated, especially the bronze – it’s tactile stuff!
