This salamander is cast in solid bronze, then polished, coloured, lacquered and waxed so it won't tarnish. I'm using the shine of the bronze showing through beautifully to create the colouring of these fire salamanders. The sculpture is about 7 cm across and stands 3 cm high.
I'm currently sculpting salamanders in two poses, the photo with the coins gives you an idea of size and how the pair look together. There is some variation in the colouring, the photos show typical results.
