This life size sculpture of a Pipistrelle bat is cast in bronze. In this pose it's wings are starting to unfold on one side. The bat is getting ready for flight. The photo with the coins gives you an idea of size (6cm nose to tail), showing this piece on the left and another sculpture of a Pipistrelle at rest with it's wings fully folded on the right.
Some small variation in colouring from piece to piece occurs due to the nature of the patination process, the photos show typical results.
These bats have a hole in the back to hang up on a small nail or screw. They're fine to go outside, but I'd recommend an adhesive in the hole, such as araldite, to stick them to the nail head.
